Artistic Midlife Crisis of a Storyteller
On the day he turned 40, visual artist Tom Woestenborghs decided to focus solely on the creative process for a year. For a year he makes art without ulterior motives. He limits himself to three themes: floral still life, nude and abstract. That soon turns out to be an impossible task...
Tom Woestenborghs (1978) makes collages, built up with many layers of adhesive plastic. Photographic images serve as a basis for this. Woestenborghs obtained a master’s degree in painting at St. Lucas in Antwerp, and a post-graduate degree at the Higher Institute of Fine Arts, also in Antwerp.
After his recent solo and book presentation at Pennings Foundation in Eindhoven, Frank Taal Galerie will present a new show from this series, with some surprises added! Come and see the special work of Tom Woestenborghs at this unforgettable night out in Rotterdam.
