During a residency Emma noticed a new stain on the studio floor. That site-specific shape is the origin for this work. A new context is created by taking other elements from the studio environment e.g. door handle and the street outside. All elements are hand-copied with a twist (modified), as is noticeable on the canvas. Also, each element shows Emma’s work process. Longing for the mark to come off the floor, it developed into an installation.
