Down The Rabbit Hole - Solo Exhibition Tom Woestenborghs

Down the rabbit hole – Soloexhibition Tom Woestengorghs (Belgium)
30.10.2015-04.12.2015

For the first time the Belgium visual artist Tom Woestenborghs will be on show in the Netherlands, presented by Gallery Frank Taal. Woestenborghs shows us his spectacular visuals of confronting scenes that are made of collages of reflective foil.

This Friday gallery Frank Taal organizes the opening from 17:00 until 21:00, at the Van Speykstraat 129, Rotterdam (just near the end of the Nieuwe Binnenweg, only 10 minute walk from CS).

The solo exhibition Down the Rabbit Hole will be on show from 30th of October until the 4th of December, 2015.
With the exhibition Down the Rabbit Hole artist Tom Woestenborghs (1978) shows the two different thematics of his work.

On the one hand he presents his series ‘Home is a formal, yet loving place’ that kindly confronts us with the dualities of our lives. This series focusses on the conflict between our formal representations – that we so easily use as a shield – and our deep felt need as humans for warmth and a sense of humanity.

The second series ‘Paradise lost’ creates an imagery of the sacrifices we as civilized humans had to make. These works display the way we compromise to – and celebrate – our basic reflexes, thus showing the restrained recurrence of our most elementary behavior.
